Big Muxima, is a non-profit organisation registered in the UK, established with the objective of developing medium and long-term solutions for children / young adults in orphanages and shelters throughout Angola

Big Muxima wants to change the mindset of the young generation from the orphanages by teaching them that donations are not a sustainable way of living and that one day they must have the skills to work. But for this, they need support to be properly trained and educated.  We do not want to replace the Angolan educational system, we just want to add value to it by filling in any gaps, providing quality education for one of the most vulnerable groups in Angola. We will research the very best programs available, raise funds and deliver with passion.

  • We will survey the orphanage's children and youth needs

  • Develop sustainable projects in the education, environment, health, professional training, and entrepreneurship areas, to cover these needs for medium- and long-term goals, so as to empower the young.

  • Seek out the appropriate experts in these fields and gather budgets for the projects.

  • Look for donors who can support the funding of these projects

  • Launch the projects, monitor, and measure their progress

  • Report back to the donors on the goals achieved

Education is a mind-expanding gift that can broaden the horizons of the young people involved and enrich their lives. But there are other pertinent reasons for getting an education too. It can really help them break into new industries, be taken seriously and boost their overall confidence. Working hard at getting a good education has long been the right thing to do because education is the key to success.

Big Muxima has incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) approved by the UN in September 2015 into its strategy and organisation governance system.

The SDGs are 17 goals divided into 169 targets, that call for global action to end poverty, preserve the planet and improve the lives and prospects of all people by 2030. They were approved on 25 September 2015 by the United Nations Member States as part of a new sustainable development agenda: Agenda 2030.

Our Vision, Mission and Values

Our Vision

We want to rebuild a nation of new citizens.

We want to develop social entrepreneurship projects.

We will engage and educate the children and young people from the orphanages to empower them to be independent.

This means THEY will contribute in the future to a more enterprising, co-operative, prosperous, and caring society.

Our Mission

Initially, we will work with some orphanages in the city of Luanda, integrate new orphanages as we grow, and gradually cover the whole country. We will be focusing on Education, Preventive Health, Climate Education, Vocational Training, and Entrepreneurship, with the long-term vision of educating for entrepreneurship, for citizenship, for life; teaching disadvantaged young people to make their dreams come true.

Our Values

  1. Excellence - We fulfil our mission with the maximum professionalism and accuracy, with a strategy of continuous improvement and satisfaction for all.

  2. Transformative Resilience - We transform problems into challenges, through a proactive approach to organisational events and challenges.

  3. Sustainability - We seek economic-financial, social and environmental balance in the development of our projects, without compromising, but rather enhancing, the quality of life of future generations.

  4. Solidarity - We assure that everyone is treated fairly, in a close relationship where the general interest is always present.

  5. Respect - We respect the diversity of races, ethnicities, genders, religions, beliefs, political and other choices. We are stronger and go further if we stand up for the human race.

  6. Transparency - We regularly disclose our activities, sustained by strong ethical principles, thus creating relationships of trust and proximity with our partners.
